Election meeting in Punjab Assembly for CM delayed due to commotion
Chief Minister, was postponed due to a commotion as the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and the Muslim League the legislators confronted each other. Strong slogans were chanted by both the parties while PTI members also threw lotas on the benches of opposition. SSP Operations of Punjab along with a heavy contingent of police personnel entered the assembly in civilian clothes to control the situation inside the house,  but later walked out of the hall soon after the protest of Pervez Elahi.

Pervez Elahi, who is in the assembly, accused the PML-N of bringing the police into the legislature "for the first time since the assembly was formed".

Rival alliance (PML-Q and PTI) candidate Pervez Elahi and joint opposition candidate PML-N's Hamza Shahbaz are expected a tough contest. Pervez Elahi is the Speaker of the House currently. But since he is the chief ministerial candidate, he is unable to preside over the session.
